Secret desires,

Is a prison in emotional fires,

And associations to be recognized,

By family, friends and professional

Ties,

Brings a striving for glory to gratify,

The self,

Fulfilling needs for the id to thrive

And swell,

At full throttle on the premise that

Happiness, success and fame may

Shine for contented glory to live full

And Burn well,

Ambition is a fortress built to honour

Prosperity and material wealth.

Alas, this illusion can only transpire,

To losing many a valued thing with

Fear pulling the wire,

And being far away from the truth

Required,

Worth without wealth leaves the mind

Wandering in hapless mires.
