LITTLE CHILD.

Little child running wild,
Tell me what you see,
Storybooks and fairy tales,
And your mind running free,

Little child running wild,
The smile that you shed
Is the picture of happiness;
Makes a man turn his head.

Innocence runs your life,
That's all you know;
Don't let it go!
The way of the world will get you;
As you grow older
Your mind will go cold.

Little child running wild,
Playing with your toys,
All wrapped up in lasting joy
'til the world fills your head with ploys.

Tadpoles and buttercups,
Chasing after birds,
Talking to a leprechaun
That's lost its way home.

Little child running wild,
Enjoy your make-believe,
'cause you will ride your rocking horse,
and see reality.
